At COdesign, we are entrusted to design and build flawless brands and businesses that create a lasting impact. As a Senior English Copywriter (gearing up to be a creative strategist) for COdesign, we’re looking for a creative problem solver who is accountable and reliable for work across the creative strategy (planning + copywriting) spectrum. This is a role that requires ambition from the inside and a  humble attitude on the outside. At the very least, the success of your role will boil down to the performance in managing deadlines, ensuring great quality, and building relationships in a self-managed and proactive manner. You will have to lead in this role, and look beyond the conventional SOP of what is expected under a “Senior English Copywriter” — because we believe the right person can be more. 

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualization & Ideation:

  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of meticulous content planning & communication for marketing and brand building. Bring out-of-the-box communication for brands, relevant to their market positioning through brainstorming sessions and coordinate with the Creative Team for effective implementation.
  • Ensure all content planning reflects its strategic space, bringing the best outcome for partner brands.

Planning & Execution:

  • Cohesively work with members of the creative, and client services team, and strategize to produce concepts, video scripts, retail marketing elements, digital marketing elements, and social posts (but not limited to) based on the project's specifics.
  • Develop functional and impactful communication for brands, aiming to enhance consumer experience and build long-lasting impressions on the audience.
  • Guide the Copywriting team in content planning and execution, ensuring a balance between strategy, content & visuals.

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Lead the team by giving timely & constructive feedback to weave together the visual and communication effectively.
  • Act as a mentor to content department personnel, ensuring a steady, gradual improvement in their professional skills and gearing them up for the future.
  • Constantly explore and research market trends with the team to ensure brand coherence with any industry shifts.
  • Ensure the team always meets timelines, budget, and quality expectations.

Required Expertise/Skills

  • Strong copywriter ability and knowledge of overall strategic concept development, as reflected in a work portfolio.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to persuade clients and co-workers.
  • Stability under pressure and ability to juggle multiple clients and assignments.
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing tactics across traditional and digital.
  • The ability to steward brand development.
  • Experience creating engaging content for print, mobile, web, and video.
  • Proofing/editing skills and a professional writer's command of the language.
  • Native speaker skills in the language of social media, with, at the very least, active Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines and goals.
  • Must be able to create storyboards, and presentations and adapt to new tools. 
  • MUST have great research and reading skills with an interest in all forms of art. 

Bonus Skills

  • Preferable to have certifications in digital marketing and copywriting (but not required).
  • Understanding of SEO, website copywriting, blogging etc - and various formats of copywriting.
  • To have working experience with designers and developers, and other marketing and tech professionals.

Qualifications

  • Have at least 4+ years of relevant agency experience (will be given priority)
  • Last but not least, it doesn’t matter if you went to a formal school or taught yourself copywriting, as long as you possess the required skills and share your passion.
